Paternus: Rise of Gods - Fantasy Novel Hardbacks

PLEASE NOTE: DELIVERY and SHIPPING FEES Reasonable effort will be made to combine add-on orders for shipping, and to combine add-on orders with pledge level rewards. This may result in significantly reduced actual shipping costs. If actual shipping cost is significantly less than what you paid, refunds will be made with delivery (rounded up to the nearest dollar and not including packaging and handling costs). Items will be shipped together in Feb/Mar 2020, except War of Gods ARCs. The eARC will be delivered in April. The paperback ARC should arrive by the date of release, May 19, 2020.

Hardback Update - Check-print and check-case received!

Hi everybody! Check out the check-stuff! I've received the hardback check-print and check case and approved them both. The books will be printed on March 3, and barring any catastrophes, will be mailed out here in the next couple of weeks.

I couldn't be happier with the results. Here are some pics, and a video of the check-print shoved inside the case. The binding edge won't look like this, of course, but I think these will turn out grand :)

Quick update - We have stuff!

Hi folks! Just a quick update to let you know things are moving right along.

  • All Rise of Gods paperbacks have been received and await signing
  • Bookmarks are here and signed
  • Posters are here, and they are gorgeous
  • Limited edition alternative cover paperback proof copy has been received, approved, and full quantity ordered
  • Hardbacks are being printed as we speak. A few more quick steps to go through, but it's happening!
  • Beta copies of Book 3, War of Gods have gone out to readers, and all is on schedule
  • All packaging for shipping has been received - it's a lot of stuff!

Phew!

Project update, and ART!

Hello everyone!

I just want to report that we are on schedule for delivery of the Paternus: Rise of Gods hardbacks (and everything else) in February/March. There will be some steps in the printing and proofing process, but I will let you all know when packages are ready to go out.

The interior formatting is finished, and I want to share the signature page and a sample chapter header, which I think look fantastic. (Any fuzziness in the images is due to the screen grabs, not the interior file itself :)

AND - Ed Binkley has completed the illustration of The Prathamaja Nandana! I squeed a little when I saw it, just couldn't help myself. I hope you like it too :)

Change in delivery dates for War of Gods ARCs, and some Paternus eBook deals

Release date change

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having wonderful holidays.

It's with mixed feelings and only after much deliberation that I've decided to push the release of Paternus: War of Gods (Book 3 of The Paternus Trilogy) back by five weeks, from May 19 to June 23, 2020.

What this means for anyone who backed a pledge tier which included the eARC (eBook Advance Release Copy) or ordered the paperback ARC is that the delivery of those has been pushed back as well.

  • eARCs will still be delivered a month in advance, as promised, but that will now be on May 26 at the latest.
  • Paperback ARCs will be mailed on or about June 4, depending on production and delivery time from the printer. 

None of this has any effect on the delivery of the hardbacks or other Kickstarter items. In fact, it will help me get those fulfilled in a timely manner.

The reason for this change is that the manuscript just isn't ready to submit to beta readers, which is the next major step before more rewriting and delivery to editors and proofers. I hate to do it, but at more than 50,000 words longer than book two, the sheer magnitude of finishing it and cleaning it up has proven more than I can handle in the time I had allotted.

That’s the bad part of the news. The good part is I’ll now have time to make the book what I really want it to be and that I think you, the readers, deserve – and not lose my mind in the process.

Thank you for your patience, and very sorry for the trouble. Let slip the gods of war… just a little later than we’d hoped…

Now some just plain good news:

Books 1 and 2 are on sale in the US and UK

Paternus: Rise of Gods is just .99, and Paternus: Wrath of Gods is just 1.99 through the 31st.

If you know anyone you think might enjoy them, now might be the time to give ‘em a nudge :)
