Paternus: Rise of Gods - Fantasy Novel Hardbacks

Created by Dyrk Ashton

PLEASE NOTE: DELIVERY and SHIPPING FEES Reasonable effort will be made to combine add-on orders for shipping, and to combine add-on orders with pledge level rewards. This may result in significantly reduced actual shipping costs. If actual shipping cost is significantly less than what you paid, refunds will be made with delivery (rounded up to the nearest dollar and not including packaging and handling costs). Items will be shipped together in Feb/Mar 2020, except War of Gods ARCs. The eARC will be delivered in April. The paperback ARC should arrive by the date of release, May 19, 2020.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Big last day today, and hardcover art!
over 4 years ago – Wed, Dec 18, 2019 at 07:37:11 AM

Hi everybody! You've all been such a fantastic group of backers, I hate to bug you again - but I've got a couple of bonus features that might ease the pain, so be sure to scroll down. I don't think you will be disappointed :)

Today is the final day to complete the survey, purchase add-ons, and pay for shipping. Surveys will be locked down tomorrow morning, Wednesday, December 18, at 9AM.

You should have received an email in the last couple of weeks with a special link to your personal BackerKit survey. If you have any question as to whether yours is completed, you might want to double-check.

After you respond to your survey, you can still go back later and change your responses at any time before the survey closes and get our final counts.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, change your survey responses, purchase add-on items, or update your shipping information, you can click the link in your survey email again, or request your survey link under “Lost your survey?” on the BackerKit project page, https://paternus1hardbacks.backerkit.com/.

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey has been sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact support at https://paternus1hardbacks.backerkit.com/faq.

Local Pickup: If you’re having any trouble locating the local pickup option, it is one of the options under “Country” in the address section. Which is kind of weird, I know.

If you have any questions at all, BackerKit has a great help link, but please feel free to contact me if you need anything at all. The quickest way for me to receive it and respond will be if you email me at [email protected]

Now the really fun stuff:

Today is also the final day to enter the #KINGSGONEWYLD for Worldbuilders raffle. For each $10 you donate, you get an entry to win this copy of Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames, signed, doodled and otherwise vandalized by 218 fantasy and science fiction authors, including some of the biggest names in the business. It's a really cool thing, and for a great cause. All proceeds go to charity.

and... ART!

This is the latest draft of Ed Binkley's illustration of The Prathamaja Nandana for inside the Paternus: Rise of Gods hardcover. I absolutely love it. And it's all thanks to all of you! We're still working on some details, and the next phase will be to add color. (This is being shown exclusively to you and my newsletter subscribers. You can talk about it anywhere you like, but please don't share the image :)

Thank you all! You are the BEST.

Yours Truly,

Dyrk

Only a few days left to complete your surveys, and some other neat stuff
over 4 years ago – Sun, Dec 15, 2019 at 02:07:04 PM

Greetings everyone! I hope you all are well this holiday season.

There are still 44 folks who haven’t completed their surveys, and I’d hate have anyone’s shipments delayed. The BackerKit surveys for the Paternus: Rise of Gods hardback Kickstarter will be closing on Wednesday morning, December 18, at 9AM. You should have received an email in the last couple of weeks with a special link to your personal BackerKit survey. If you didn't see it, please check out "Lost your survey?" below. If you have any question as to whether yours is completed, you might want to double-check.

You will still be able to update your address right up to a week or so before rewards are shipped in February/March of 2020, even after the surveys are closed.

Charges to credit cards will be made a few days after the Survey is locked down, on Saturday, December 21. If you need to update any credit card information, you’ll want to do that before then.

Local Pickup: If you’re having any trouble locating the local pickup option, it is one of the options under “Country” in the address section. Which is kind of weird, I know.

What’s in the survey? This is where you’ll answer questions about your reward preferences, provide your mailing address, pay for shipping, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, just click the survey link to respond.

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before the survey closes and get our final counts.

A couple of other nifty things - a brand new anthology release last week, and it has a new short story from me set in the world of Paternus, called “The Death of Osiris.” This collection has new stories from a ton of authors, including Michael J. Sullivan and Will Wight! And it’s FREE. Heroes Wanted: A Fantasy Anthology.

The above link is to the Amazon eBook, but it’s available pretty much everywhere. There’s a paperback version, too.

There’s another cool Kickstarter happening right now as well - for another anthology that will also have a Paternus short story! You can check that out here: Witches, Warriors, and Wise Women.

Thanks for all your support, and have a wonderful week :)

All the best, Dyrk

It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards. Surveys will remain open until Wednesday morning, December 18, at 9AM.

At that time, they will be locked down - except you will still be able to update your address right up to a week or so before rewards are shipped in February/March of 2020. Charges for add-ons selected during the Survey period will be made when the Survey is locked down.

What’s in the survey? This is where you’ll answer questions about your reward preferences, provide your mailing address, pay for shipping, and purchase add-on items if you like.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, just click the survey link to respond.

Survey "Smoke Test" went out today! And shipping costs.
over 4 years ago – Fri, Nov 29, 2019 at 05:18:49 PM

Hi folks! The actual survey will go out on Tuesday, Dec. 3, but a small percentage of backers are receiving what's called a "Smoke Test" survey today. This is to test the surveys to see if there is anything that's been missed, or if backers have any questions or issues that can be addressed before the surveys are sent to everyone.

One thing that has come up is the cost of international shipping. I know it's expensive, and I hate it. One thing I added to the BackerKit Store, and thought I had added to information in the survey or in the area on shipping but apparently did not, is as follows: "If actual shipping cost is significantly less than what you paid, refunds will be made with delivery (rounded up to the nearest dollar and not including packaging and handling costs)." In addition, "Reasonable effort will be made to combine add-on orders for shipping, and to combine add-on orders with pledge level rewards. This may result in significantly reduced actual shipping costs." And I will stick by that refund policy, guaranteed, and will be adding this information to the surveys and anywhere else I can find to do so.

For example, the estimated weight of the hardback with packaging is 44 ounces based on hardbacks of similar size and page length, and it will be in something like an 8"x10" box. First Class International USPS postage to Canada for 33 to 44 ounces is $26.25. That is an estimated weight, though. If the books weighs less and actual shipping cost is significantly less than what you paid, refunds will be made as described above.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reply to this update or send me a Message.

Thanks everyone. I hope this helps, and that you all have a fantastic weekend.

All the best,

Dyrk
