Paternus: Rise of Gods - Fantasy Novel Hardbacks

Created by Dyrk Ashton

PLEASE NOTE: DELIVERY and SHIPPING FEES Reasonable effort will be made to combine add-on orders for shipping, and to combine add-on orders with pledge level rewards. This may result in significantly reduced actual shipping costs. If actual shipping cost is significantly less than what you paid, refunds will be made with delivery (rounded up to the nearest dollar and not including packaging and handling costs). Items will be shipped together in Feb/Mar 2020, except War of Gods ARCs. The eARC will be delivered in April. The paperback ARC should arrive by the date of release, May 19, 2020.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

A note regarding pledge backers and the "BackerKit pre-order store"
over 4 years ago – Fri, Nov 22, 2019 at 01:03:16 AM

Hi everyone! A few folks have asked about it, so I figured I ought to post this update.

A pre-order store has now been opened in BackerKit. This is only for people who missed the Kickstarter but would still like to get a few things. It doesn't even include everything from the pledge levels, and definitely none of the reward items or add-ons offered exclusively to pledge backers.

You will have the opportunity to add more of any of the reward items from the pledge levels and any of the add-ons when you receive your Survey on Tuesday, December 3.

Thanks! I hope this helps, and sorry for any confusion.

All the best,

Dyrk

Want to hear when the next Paternus Kickstarter is on its way?
over 4 years ago – Thu, Nov 21, 2019 at 01:21:26 AM

Hi folks! It's been recommended I create an exclusive list for backers who would like to know when the next Kickstarter is coming up. The plan is to do them for books two and three, and include a fancy box for the full set.

So, I've made a landing page only for backers called Paternus Kickstarter News. I'd love to have you aboard!

Thank you again for your support :)

All the very best,

WE DID IT! And next steps...
over 4 years ago – Wed, Nov 20, 2019 at 01:12:47 AM

Thank you everyone, for making this dream project a reality! I honestly had no idea if this project would fund, and you all have completely blown any expectations I might have had out of the water. I can't express enough just how appreciative I am of everyone for supporting.

All due to your wonderful support for this Kickstarter, I will definitely be running one for hardbacks of book 2, Paternus: Wrath of Gods. That will most likely happen next Summer or early Fall, 2020.

What's happening now: It will take a couple of weeks for Kickstarter to transfer over the funds so we have the money to make the rewards, but Ed Binkley is already working on the art for the book, and I'm already in production mode. The plan is to deliver all awards together in February or March 2020 (I'm aiming for earliest possible), except for the book 3 Paternus: War of Gods eARCs, which will be made available to download in April. Those will be available no later than April 19, one month before the release date of May 19. If you choose a War of Gods ARC paperback in the add-ons, I will do my very best to have that to you before the release date, but with a tight schedule and various shipping times, it could be close.

What's happening next: In two weeks time, you will receive your surveys. In those, you can update any shipping or payment information, choose how you would like your books to be signed and how you want your name to appear in the back of the hardbacks (if you pledged for one), and the same for the Limited Edition Rise of Gods alternative cover paperbacks.

You will also be able to get the add-ons through the survey. Everything in the pledge levels will be there in case you want more of what you've pledged for or items that you didn't, but there will also be:

  • Archival quality, Giclee printed posters in three sizes
  • Signed Limited Edition Rise of Gods alternative cover paperbacks
  • War of Gods Advance Release Copy (ARC) paperbacks
  • Rare Paternus original cover paperbacks

I’ll give you a heads-up before we send the survey so that you can watch for it. You won’t need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey. The invitation email will contain a link to your personal survey. It is important to submit your responses as quickly as you can since we need this information to process your rewards. Surveys will remain open for two weeks, at which time they will be locked down - except you will be able to update your address right up to a week or so before rewards are shipped in February/March. Credit cards will not be charged until the Surveys are locked down.

Again, thanks for all your support. I can’t wait to update you on the progress of the rewards, and send you your Paternus stuff!

All the very best,

Dyrk

Almost done!

Hi everybody! I'll post a more elaborate update tomorrow, but here as the close of the Kickstarter approaches (11:59PM tonight, EST), I want to thank you all for your generous and enthusiastic support of this project. This has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life. THANK YOU!

One day left, and BOOM!
over 4 years ago – Mon, Nov 18, 2019 at 12:11:46 AM

Hi everyone! This has been one of the greatest thrills of my lifetime. As of this moment, the Kickstarter has raised nearly $13,000. That's 243% of the $5300 funding goal! And we still have today and tomorrow!

I'm incredibly excited that we also reached our first two stretch goals and the hardback will now include a piece of color artwork of The Prathamaja Nandana by the incredibly talented and renowned artist. Ed is working the initial sketches now, and we just spoke last night about some of the details. I absolutely can't wait to see them.

If you've been checking stats at all, you may have noticed a really big bump in pledges on the 12th. That is entirely thanks to the amazing Michael J. Sullivan. He posted about our Kickstarter to his Kickstarter backers as well as to his Goodreads blog, and BOOM! - well, you can see the results. I am honored beyond belief, and can’t thank Michael and his wife Robin enough. They are truly wonderful and generous people.

It would be awesome if you’d check out Michael’s profile and follow him. His books are amazing and hugely popular.

Some "highlights" about Michael:

  • 5-successful Kickstarters including #4, #6, #8, and #12 most-funded fiction Kickstarters of all time and #3, #4, #6, and #8 most-backed).
  • 2 New York Times Bestsellers
  • 3 USA Today Bestsellers
  • 8 Goodreads Choice Aware Nominations -- And is up for another one right now!

As for Robin, she runs the largest writer's Meetup Group in the Washington D.C. area and gives monthly free seminars on the business of writing.

Thanks again all! Keep sharing about the KS -- we're not that far away from funding the short story stretch goal at $15K!

Yours truly,

Dyrk
